Well, I've watched cartoons as long and often as anime, so I felt like making this list after I made the anime list back on Necro's birthday.
If you reply with a list, name your favorite character at the end. The cartoon must be targetted for kids or teens. Don't need to explain what it's about, most cartoons have no central canon, so just say why you like them.
10.) Invader Zim
An alien that wants to rule the world but has to attend school and look like a human. Pretty standard, except this cartoon was geared more towards a teenage audience and was much darker than the rest of the cartoons out at the time. (YOU LIEEEES!)
Favorite character: Gir
9.) The Power Puff Girls
I was actuallu very surprised I even liked this show as a kid, but god damn that was a fun one. First of all, it was one of the very few times a kids' show was allowed to show blood, and the concept of the show was so simple that anyone could watch it at any time because it never followed a continuous canon.
Favorite character: Buttercup
8.) The Fairly Odd Parents
Probably one of the most clever cartoons ever created. It hides some seriously dark themes or very good (mostly dirty) jokes that will make you feel very surprised.
Favorite Character: Cozmo
7.) The Amazing World of Gumball
I was very impressed with this show's animation with multi-media rendering. It also has hilarious moments and very clever plots per episode.
Favorite Character: Nicole
6.) Teen Titans (Original)
This show was very anime influenced. It followed a canon, though vaguely, and it was generally fun to watch and was a gateway for many kids to start watching anime.
Favorite Character: Robin
5.) Steven Universe
I'm going to be flamed for putting this one this low, aren't I?
Another very anime influenced cartoon. It has great music, story, characters, and is all around an easy show to watch. This one really struggled at first but now that it's finding its definitive style, it picked up and exploaded.
Favorite Character: Garnet
4.) We Bare Bears
Very new cartoon that just premiered two months ago. So far, it's still finding its own style but it's doing it very well. It's just as good as Steven Universe right now imo, but it just has an extra little kick that makes me like it more.
Favorite Character: Ice Bear
3.) Kaijudo
Now we're getting into the really deep storylines. Kaijudo is packed with so many different themes while following a non-linear canon, which makes for a very gripping and fast paced story. At first I felt like this cartoon was for adults, but when I saw a TV Y7 rating I was like, "What?"
Favorite Character: Tatsurion
2.) Avatar: The Last Airbender
This was my favorite cartoon. Great story, characters, world building, explanations, and logic. It really had wholesome and often very dark themes. All around you can't watch an episode of this and be bored. For me, it was simply impossible; not to mentions the fights are badass and the animation is top notch.
Favorite Character: Aang
Yeah, list sucks, but it's time for some honorable mentions.
The Secret Saturdays
Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends
Thundercats (new)
The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy
Chalk World
Catdog
Rocco's Modern Life
Rugrats
Regular Show
Adventure Time
Dexter's Laboratory
1.) Gravity Falls
THIS ONE, blew me away. I can't explain everything about why I like it because it would be a long ass series of paragraphs. I feel addicted tot his one, and I never can look away from the screen.
Favorite Character: Dipper
(Close second: Bill Cipher)
