Asuya's Gem-Knight Deck Profile Empty
PostSubject: Asuya's Gem-Knight Deck Profile   Asuya's Gem-Knight Deck Profile EmptyWed Jun 17, 2015 5:04 am

Alright you worthless maggots, listen up...As a fusion extraordinaire, I'm sure you all know that my favorite deck is the Gem-Knight deck. And with the recent release of their newest support in the OCG, I figured I'd make an up-to-date profile on the deck so you maggots can learn how to PROPERLY use the deck. I don't want to hear anyone saying "Use this instead" or "Use that" because I am arrogantly staunch in my ways and have been playing this deck for four years now. I know how it works, and I've used all kinds of builds, so learn your pecking order and shut it. Anyway here's how it goes:

Monsters (21):

-Gem-Knight Garnet (2): He's the Pyro of the team. If you want to abuse the opponent with Citrine, I suggest you use him well. He's also a 1900 Atk beatstick used to punch your opponent's monsters into submission. He also has no effect, so Breakthrough and Fiendish on him are USELESS.

-Gem-Knight Lapis (1): She's one of the new recruits to the Knights of shining Gem. She's used ONLY to summon Lady Lapis Lazuli. I keep her at one because you only need her ONCE. Should you need her a second time, Lazuli and Obsidian can throw their weight to help.

-Gem-Knight Sapphire (1): The biggest defender in this damn deck. If you open him, it's not that bad considering you can sit on him for a bit with some backrow. He's really just fusion fodder.

-Gem-Knight Tourmaline (2): He's the Thunder of the team. If you want to use Topaz with Master Diamond, which you should do unless you're brain dead, then he's the man of the hour. If you want to use Prismaura, he's also good for that. He also has 1800 defense so you can sit on him like Sapphire. He's the most balanced, but I keep him at two.

-Denko Sekka (2): Now I know what you're thinking: Why the hell would I tech her in here? Well first of all, you worthless maggot, she has a great effect if you go second and the opponent uses backrow, so no Fire Lake, no Yang Zing Creation, no Yosenju Secret Move, NOTHING. She's also a 1700 Atk beater and is Thunder-type, so she can be used as Fusion Material for Prismaura.

-Gem-Armadillo (3): The big, bad, Armadillo is here to wreck face. He's your primary searcher. With him, you usually want to search out Obsidian or Lazuli. NOTHING ELSE. He's also Rock-Type, which allows for Zirconia plays.

-Gem-Knight Lazuli (3): This little rock punches hard in the graveyard. She's at three because you want to fuse with her as much as possible with the normal Gems to keep the combos flowing. She can also be triggered by cards like Mathematician, Dark Hole, Brilliant Fusion, etc. So she's GREAT. Keep at three. No exceptions.

-Gem-Knight Obsidian (3): He's like Lazuli only for special summoning. His effect also never misses timing, so if you want to use stuff like Lightning Vortex or Karma Cut to discard him, the effect STILL HAPPENS. KEEP AT THREE.

-Mathematician (1): The old geezer's good for sending Lazuli and getting a plus when he's destroyed. Nothing else.

-Rescue Rabbit (1): If you don't get why he's in here, you're an idiot.

-Summoner Monk (2): This motherfucker can discard Gem-Knight Fusion to special summon a Gem from the deck. Then, you can banish a Gem in the grave to get Fusion back, and REPEAT THE CYCLE.

Spells (10):

-Absorb Fusion (3): This fucking card needs to get to the TCG NOW. It searches out Gem-Knight Fusion, or any other Gem-Knight card, then lets you fuse by banishing materials, but don't do that...that's bad.

-Brilliant Fusion (2): Again...WE NEED THIS CARD. This card is a fucking Shaddoll Fusion but without the Extra Deck cost. The only thing is that it drops your fusion monster's attack and defense to 0, but when you use it to get out Lady Lapis Lazuli, that doesn't fucking matter. Oh and it's continuous. But that doesn't matter either.

-Gem-Knight Fusion (3): This is my all-time favorite card. Even after you fusion summon once, you can banish a Gem from the grave to fuse AGAIN. And AGAIN. And AGAIN. As long as you have materials, this card is never bad.

-Mystical Space Typhoon (2): You need backrow removal. Maggot.

Traps (9):

-Bottomless Trap Hole (1): Because high-attack monsters suck. And Pendulums are a thing.

-Breakthrough Skill (2): Can never go wrong with effect negation. Let alone 4 of it from 2 cards.

-Compulsory Evacuation Device (1): Bounce that shit back. Bounce it I say.

-Dimensional Prison (2): Banishing since 2010 (I think).

-Fiendish Chain (2): MORE EFFECT NEGATION.

-Fragment Fusion (1): Good for finishing OTKs or setting up a quick defense if you need it. This lets you fuse from the GRAVEYARD, allowing Gems to now be able to fuse from the Deck, Hand, Field, and Grave. All we need now is a Parallel World Fusion of sorts. And a Nekroz Kaleidoscope for Fusions...That'd be sweet...

Extra Deck (15):

-Gem-Knight Citrine (2): This dude's an Armades, with just 100 less attack power. 'Nuff said.

-Gem-Knight Lady Brilliant Diamond (1): This bitch is our new boss, and she'll be yours too. By sending ONE, only ONE, Gem monster to the grave, you can bring out Citrine, Topaz, Master Diamond, Lapis Lazuli, etc. She also has 3400 fucking attack power. Hail to the Queen.

-Gem-Knight Lady Lapis Lazuli (2): There are two in here because you can never have too much burn, and even with Lapis at 1 in this deck, you can get her out in more ways than one (see what I did there?) Use her burn effect, then fuse her with two other Gems for Master Diamond, then use Diamond to copy her effect and use it again. Hurts don't it?

-Gem-Knight Master Diamond (1): The old boss of the deck, this old geezer's still got it pumping. He gets 100 attack power for every Gem (Including Armadillo) in the grave and can copy Topaz and Lady Lapis Lazulis' effects for massive damage.

-Gem-Knight Prismaura (1): This dude pops a face-up card by discarding a Gem card. In other words, discard Gem-Knight Fusion, pop a face-up card, get Fusion back to your hand, repeat the next turn.

-Gem-Knight Topaz (1): As weak as he is, his effect is great for copying.

-Gem-Knight Zirconia (2): This big motherfucker is the easiest Gem-Knight fusion monster to summon, he has no effect (Sorry, Fiendish), and he has 2900 Attack power. Best part is you could probably get 2 at once. Then when you're done pummeling the opponent into submission, you overlay them into the next set of cards...

-Castel, the Skyblaster Musketeer (1): Do I really need to explain why he's here?

-Divine Dragon Knight Felgrand (1): Overlay two effectless fusion monsters into this guy? I think so. This motherfucker needs no introduction nor any explanation. He's just easy to get out in this deck.

-Lavalval Chain (1): God forbid you don't open any of the fusion spells (It does happen), but you make this guy, he can detach a Gem-Knight, send Fusion to the grave, and there you go, Fusion to the hand. Problem solved.

-Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack (1): Seeing as how most of the Fusions in here are level 7, you can get him out fairly easily. It's rare, but easy.

-Number 11: Big Eye (1): Same reason as Dracossack.

So there's my Gem-Knight deck, you worthless maggots. Now go out there, learn the deck, and wreck face. ALL OF IT.

Before anything else, D-Prison has actually been around since 2007.

That being said, two questions:

1.) As for the trap line-up, what about using three Fiendish instead of 2 BTS and 2 Fiendish, then run a Solemn Warning for the summon negation? It dodges things like Trish all the same and has much more board control. You could also take out Compuls for Vanity's, depending on the match ups you're seeing. I know I've always preferred Vanity's. Or heck, you could even throw in Raigeki, taking into consideration that you don't run it.

2.) Does 3 Obsidian AND Lapis ever clog? I've always used a 2:3 ratio of them to avoid the clog, and I've never really seen an issue.

Yeah, that. Kewl deck though bruh. Cheese for us maggots. :I

I have tried cards like Raigeki and whatnot, but the results I've seen are not very good. Seeing as how a lot of the decks I've been facing consist of Burning abyss and cards that benefit off of being destroyed, I decided to take it out. Not to mention there's little room for it. As for Solemn, as good as it can be, a lot of times I would draw into it when it wasn't needed and when it was I would never see it. Plus the 2000 LP cost usually kills me in the end. I prefer Compuls because it gets past cards like Dante and whatnot. I have run Vanity's before, but I found the same results as with Solemn. I would always draw into it when it isn't needed. As for Obsidian and Lazuli clogging, it rarely happens with me. I've tried Obsidian at 2 but found I need him at 3. Should you draw into both of them and any of the fusion cards, you can just go into Zirconia to fix it. I like 2 Breakthrough and 2 Fiendish because it gives diversity and options. 3 Fiendish can clog the field fairly quickly. I rarely clog with this build.
