CDA/GDA/SDA Joint YCS!

Welcome to the first joint event between Chrysalis Duel Academy, Satellar Duel Academy, and Gishki Duel Academy. This is an event to celebrate Satellar and Gishki’s affiliations with Chrysalis! Yay everyone gets to be friends! So we’re going to have fun dueling each other in the art of card games? Sounds fun yee? So as a side event, the YCS will also have a lovely Goat Control Format tournament on the side aswell for those who want to try something new. With that said, I am Kuroko Shirai (Dazo on Tellar you nubs ), an admin from Chrysalis DA, and lets get into the details of the YCS! Yay!

Information

Yeah I know, we need to establish some ground rules for both tournaments first. So lets gladly do that!

The Dueling System that will be Dueling Network
Matches will be in Match Format (2 out of 3), and decks will be locked. The most recent TCG banlist will be used. TCG and OCG cards are allowed. (So probably the July 1st list, assuming we have one)
A D/C during the duel will count as a duel lost, a D/C before or during siding is ok, just pick off from where you left off.
For the Goat Control Side Tournament, Matches will be in Match Format (2 out of 3), and decks will be locked. The April 2005 Banlist will be used. We will NOT be using cards from the Cybernetic Revolution set. Priority Will be a thing, so read up on that. Remember whoever goes first gets the first draw. Also cards which were eratta'd get the effects before they were eratta'd

Here is how the swiss will work. Please note this is a representation of what it will look like, if we have 4 nubs, great, if we have 513 nubs, awesome. I’m sorta expecting around the 17-32 range or the 33-64 range. I’m not crazy, I’m not expecting 128 nubs:

4-8 players = 3 rounds of swiss and the player cut off = None
9-16 players = 4 rounds of swiss and the player cut off = top 4
17-32 players = 5 rounds of swiss and the player cut off = top 4
33-64 players = 6 rounds of swiss and the player cut off = top 8
65-128 players = 7 rounds of swiss and the player cut off is top 8
129-256 players = 8 rounds of swiss and the player cut off is top 16
257-512 players = 9 rounds of swiss and the player cut off is top 16
513-1024 players = 10 rounds of swiss and the player cut off is top 32

Whats a tournament with prizes? Not a good one thats for sure. Don’t worry if you don’t win, cause we’ll give you a participant userbar! as long as you complete your first round of swiss that is. Also all userbars will be done by Sawada Tsuna. So thank him for me. Now the YCS prizes are:

1st Place: 30 Day DN Code (out of my own pocket), A userbar, A Dorm Rank-Up, and 2000 Stardust
2nd Place: 15 Day DN Code (out of my own pocket), A userbar, A Dorm Rank-Up, and 1500 Stardust
Top 4: 9 Day DN Code (out of my own pocket), A userbar, A Dorm Rank-Up, and 1000 Stardust
Top 8: A userbar, A Dorm Rank-Up, and 500 Stardust

So by the looks of things we have 13 YCS Participants from here (1 Participating in Goat Control)
14 Participants from CDA (4 Participating in Goat Control)
And 12 Participants from Satellar DA (5 Participating in Goat Control)

So by the looks of things, sense we have 39 YCS Participants (10 Goat Control) we will have 6 rounds of swiss and the player cut off = top 8. (YAY!) and 4 rounds of swiss and the player cut off = top 4 (Also hyped!) This is just a general tally, and your still welcome to add to these numbers, but sign-ups will close After Tuesday the 30th, 11:59 EST or PST, So do continue to sign up.

If we get a new ban list after the tournament started will we still use the April list or will we switch to the July list?

Anyhow, I'm extending the tournament starting date a bit longer, sense I'm probably going to go look for another place to share this with because Gishki is no longer included in the event.

And IF we get a new banlist we'll probably switch to the July list.

We have the amount you wanted, so I don't really see much point to extending it even if Gishki is not participating. The sign-up time is already 5 days and that is good enough to lose a good portion of people, adding another few days would only make more people forget about this.

Dam, you got a point there. Sadly I wanted a top 8 (though I thought we wouldn't get one) mostly because I made Sawada make Top 8 Userbars for no reason, and they were good too. I'll probably start it like I said, But I am going to see if I can get some more entries so that we can have a top 8 by the 1st.

Yeah but we also lose gishki's members. Goat Control is uneffected because BAKA BAKA BAKA Signed up on here, but we lose 13 participants in the YCS, but 2 more joined on here. Right now we have 28 counting both academies. If we get 5 more sign-ups from either academy, we get Top 8. I think we can do that by the 1st, can we?

Why aren't they participating if they already got 13 people for this .-.

And it is possible I suppose. We already squeezed out a good amount of the players that want to do it. You might be able to convince some of the gishki people to represent a different academy.
