Prophecy vs Dragon Ruler Tournament

March 2013 format.. the day Lord of Tachyon Galaxy dropped we all knew dark times were ahead.. and some of you people, like myself, might actually be sadistic enough to revisit those dark times! Some of you may have not been around for this format, however you hear so much about how ridiculous it was and how bonkers these decks were than you want to experience it yourself. Here is your chance to do either of these things!

Before we begin do you know you don't HAVE to play prophecy or dragon rulers, however there is a very high chance that if you do you will get absolutely stomped on.

Format: TCG, March 2013 banlist, Best 2 out of 3 matches, Single elimination if 4-7 people, double elimination if 8+

Rules:

-Do not harass anyone for using meta decks... it is kind of the point of this tournament. Don't harass in general either.
-Most recent set you can use is Judgment of the Light (everything after came post september 2013 banlist).
-Deadline to sign up is Friday, the tournament will start on Saturday.
-D/C's MOSTLY will count as a game loss unless it is done while siding or in RPS.
-Deck changing is allowed.
-The player that goes first draws a 6th card.

Rewards:

4-7 people:
1st place: 300 SD
2nd place: 100 SD

8+ people:
1st place: 500 SD
2nd place: 200 SD
3rd place: 100 SD

It is free to enter. If I am in the prize pool, then the next person will receive the reward. For example, if we have 8 people and I get second, then 1st place will get 500 SD, 3rd place will get 200 SD, 4th will get 100 SD, and I will get nothing (it is coming out of my wallet anyway).

Oh, and although this is still what is considered the format that contained the strongest decks of all time, the mirror matches were highly skillful as a result, due to the necessary management of resources of both sides. Of course, the Prophecy vs. D-Ruler mach ups were a bit more saccy because it was basically protect the Jowgen vs. Blaster, but you know.

Yea I should have given some shoutout to lswarms, but let's face it the deck was still powerhoused over by books and rulers a lot of the time. They had much fewer tops, even when there were more lswarm than dragon ruler/prophecy decks. Constellars and Madolche also got some random tops, but for the most part they were destroyed by the meta.

Well, in a rankings determined by the OCG (I'll find source later), D-Rulers held about 54% of the meta, Prophecy about 36%, Verz about 9%, and the last little bit was held by everything else. I don't think the numbers were quite like that, but it was along those lines, os they were certainly worth mentioning as the most relevant rogue at the time.

Eh. I'm in it'll be fun to see why everyone said D-Rulers were so nutzo.

Jim has been offline for a while, so I am going to DQ him. I beat Large Kid 2-0 (He left game 2, but it was pretty favored to me and I checked for droll and lock bird already so that wasn't an issue).
