New V-Jump Promo: Beatrice the Eternal Lady + possible speculations on BA and banlist

A while back, V-Jump released an article alongside the Breaker of Shadow leak detailing their latest promo card. All we knew was its name, and that it was to support Burning Abyss as BA was coming to the OCG with BOSH.

Now we got the full leak of the monster so lets go over it together.

You can also Xyz Summon this card by sending 1 “Burning Abyss” monster from your hand to the Graveyard and using 1 “Dante” monster you control as the Xyz Material. (Xyz Material attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) You cannot activate this card’s (1) effect during the turn you Special Summoned it this way. (1) Once per turn, during either player’s turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; send 1 card from your Deck to the Graveyard. (2) If this card is destroyed by your opponent and sent to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 “Burning Abyss” monster from your Extra Deck, ignoring the Summoning conditions.

So firstly, I was wondering how to summon Beatrice since it is a rank 6 and BA is only full of level 3s. I had vague ideas but ultimatly thought it would be a N99 effect of discarding and using a face up monster for the summon, preferably Dante.

Her effect is really cool. By discarding 1 material, you get a free foolish burial. which really helps BA become even more powerful. Also if she dies, then you get Traveller Dante, Virgil, or Pilgrim Dante from your extra deck for free. BA got a major strategy power boost thanks to her. I alos like how in The Divine Comedy, Beatrice is the name of Dante's Lover/Wife and so the references to the real life Dante and his works live on.


Now I want to ask a question. What would BA's status on priority to get hit go to with this monster? They got neutered when Tour guide got hit and have been slowly creeping back up there. And now thanks to this new monster, they may become a target for hits. Also with BA coming to the OCG soon, what are your thoughts particularly on what should get hit if they do get hit by Konami come October/December.

First of all, keep in mind the OCG is getting this card before the TCG. It actually won't be causing problems over in 'Murica for at least another year, by which point I'm hoping BA will have gotten hits anyway, and the OCG only has a few of the cards to begin with. The other thing to pay close attention to is the fact Beatrice herself isn't a BA monster. Most of the power plays you could make are neutered by that, such as ditching Cir or Graff during the opponent's turn. Sure, a quick-play Farfa is nice, but even that is debatable in its utility. On top of all of that, there are a host of situations where you wouldn't want to go into this over Dante as a result. The card is great, yes, but I highly doubt it's going to particularly revolutionize the deck. It's just a nice addition.
